Wits University, which has recently been rocked by scandals relating to sexual harassment of female students, has appointed a renowned firm of lawyers to probe the allegations.
In a statement released yesterday the university said the first probe would be against “a specific member” of staff who has already been placed on special leave following allegations of having sexually harassed female students.
A campus-wide inquiry into sexual harassment will also be set up and led by the head of the Centre for Applied Legal Studies.
