Alcohol worth about R80,000 was destroyed in Rustenburg on Thursday, North West police said.

"The liquor was seized from liquor outlets in Rustenburg policing areas during Safer Festive Operation Duty Calls," Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.

The alcohol was confiscated from tavern owners without licences.
