Prince William and Kate Middleton will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary tomorrow.

Prince William proposed to Kate on 16 November 2010 with an 18 carat sapphire engagement ring that had previously belonged to his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The wedding took place on 29 April 2011 in Westminster Abbey, London.

A source close to the royal family told E! News that the couple would be spending their anniversary in private.

They have no public appearances next week so they will have an extended period of time out of the spotlight.
