On Friday Fons Luminis High School in Diepkloof, turned faces green as the Earth Day School Greening activation hit Soweto.
“Our aim is to install recycling stations, address water wastage through plumbing as most of the taps are broken if not leaking in most schools”, said Duduzile Ntuli founder of the Green Partnering Concept (GPC).
She said that besides stimulating conversations, greening projects are aimed at making a tangible difference to the schools in general with matters relating to sustainability.
"We are also calling paint supplies to come on board as the project aims at beautifying the schools and instil a sense of pride within these schools", she said.
Green Partnering Concept (GPC) is a greening and sustainability driven entity with a vision of bringing environmental awareness and sustainability issues closer to the previously disadvantaged parts of South Africa.
