ANCYL secretary general Sindiso Magaqa and league spokesperson Floyd Shivambu have on Thursday requested the appeal hearing of expelled Youth League President Julius Malema be postponed.
The members of the NEC of the ANCYL arrived at Luthuli House in Johannesburg without their legal representatives. The two are said to have pleaded with the ANC National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal (NDCA) that they were not prepared for the hearing as they had not received key documents from the national disciplinary committee's previous hearing.
The National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) of the ANC, last month, expelled ANCYL President Julius Malema from the ruling party on charges of sowing divisions and bringing the party into disrepute.
Following his comments at Wits University few weeks ago that President Zuma is a dictator, Malema was immediately striped of his powers as ANCYL president temporarily.
Floyd Shivambu was also meant to appeal his 3 year suspension on Thursday on charges of sowing divisions and bringing the party into disrepute after swearing at a journalist and issuing a statement calling for a change of government in Botswana.
